Late Monpa was instrumental in forming the Ex-Servicemen Association of Arunachal Pradesh (ESMAAP), a registered society which gave a window to address the grievances of ESMs, widows and NOKs in the absence of full pledged Rajya Sainik Board and had served as president till 2015.
He also served in the office of the Registrar, Guwahati High Court Bench, Naharlagun from November 24, 2003, to November 24, 2014.
Late Monpa was the first Army man from Arunachal Pradesh to rise to the rank of Subedar Major and retired with the rank of Hon’y Capt, which is a very rare achievement.
On Thursday, the Ex-Servicemen of capital complex paid their last respect to the departed soul at his residence at D Sector, Naharlagun.
Offering condolences to the bereaved family, an EMSAAP team led by president Wg Cdr (retd) Kago Gyati prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
“All the ESMs of Arunachal Pradesh shall remain indebted to him for working tirelessly towards the establishment of ad-hoc Rajya Sainik Board in Arunachal Pradesh and for the creation of ESMAAP, said ESMAAP vice president Lt Col (retd) Bruce Jilee.
Late Monpa is survived by his wife, a son, who’s also a retired veteran having served 5 Assam regiment for 22 years, and a daughter.
