United Loiliang FC reclaimed the 11th T Chai Memorial Running Football Tournament 2018 by beating Tezu Bazaar FC by 2 – 0 goals.

In the grand final match played in between the United Loiliang FC reclaimed the 11th T Chai Memorial Running Football Tournament 2018 by beating Tezu Bazaar FC by 2 – 0 goals played today here at the Jubilee ground.

The play started on an aggressive note with players of both the teams trying to score first and gain the upper hand; but neither side was able to score in the first half.

After few minutes of half time Rocky Yun No – 9 jersey of United Loiliang FC scored the goal. TBFC also attempted several shot but failed, however again before ten minutes of finishing game Jersey No – 9 scored yet another goal making the United Loiliang FC winner.

Winner was awarded Rs 50000/ along with the coveted trophy, while the runner-up team was given Rs 30,000 with trophy. All the individual award winners were given trophies with Rs 10000 each. Manchal Ritti FC was adjudged best discipline team with cash prize of Rs 10,000/ and a trophy.

Speaking on the opening ceremony, Dr Mohesh Chai Minister Sports and Youth Affairs said his ministry has been striving hard to promote games and sports after he took over the helm of affair since the last five months. “My ministry has made functional three defunct schemes and building best infrastructure to promote games and sports in the state”, he says. Tadar Appa Director Sports & Youths Affair who graced the occasion as chief guest advises the teams participated in the tournament to opt football as career where govt. has reserved 10% sport quota in job and best player will be selected for Tadar Tang Memorial Football Tournament 2018 to be played at Namsai from November”, he informs.

Guest of honour Dr DW Thungon SP Lohit also advises the student to pick up games & sports for fit and healthy mind.

Besides, Lohit DC Karma Leki, Kapriso Krong and Nakul Chai former Minister, Head of the Dept, Chai family members and jam – packed spectators participated to make the final exciting.     

Over 29 teams participated in the 17 days of tournament played here that was kicked off on 25th Sept last at the Jubilee ground. The Sports and Youths Affairs Lohit also announced team for the Tadar Tang Memorial Football Tournament 2018.
