Khandu said Taliha constituency receives neither benefits from BADP nor from Urban Development schemes. He promised to give special attention to the constituency and said that in the current financial year 2017-18, the area will have adequate schemes of not less than Rs 50 crores.
Before addressing the public meeting the Chief Minister inaugurated the RCC school building of the govt higher secondary school, Taliha.
Khandu in his maiden visit here was accorded rousing reception by people of Taliha constituency that included gaon burhas, ponung party, students, panchayat leaders and public.
Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and State BJP President Tapir Gao accompanied him.
The Union Minister Kiren Rijiju inaugurated the RCC Girls Hostel of the govt higher secondary school, Kodak on way to Taliha.
Earlier, Rijiju in his speech assured to take up the matter for a JNV school for Upper Subansiri district and promised that the school will be established soon. He also announced to provide BSNL 3G Internet connectivity for Taliha constituency including road communication up to Taksing by December 2018.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein in his speech underlined the need for good road connectivity. He appealed the people to cooperate with the development efforts and not to cause hindrance to works by demanding huge compensation. He said the area has huge scope in horticulture and once the road connectivity is improved, the region can reap huge benefits.
State BJP President, Horticulture Parliamentary Secretary Punji Mara, former Minister Nyato Rigia also spoke on the occasion.
Raga MLA Tamar Murtem and Dumporijo MLA Pakgna Bage also attended the meeting.
