Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu While addressing a Public meeting at Taliha, reiterated that state govt will soon handover investigation of PDS case to CBI.
He said, Chief Secretary has been instructed to study the matter and to prepare all paper works related to PDS misappropriation for it to be recommended to the CBI to investigate the case. He said when Congress was in power, it never bothered to investigate the people behind such scam, and it’s only after BJP coming into power, the state govt is serious to unearth the people behind.
Khandu said lack of proper policy has left state govt unable to utilise its resources to generate revenue. He said State was under Congress rule for long time and in those day people suffered for lack of attention from the centre. But now with able leadership in New Delhi, the state is witnessing no dearth of support from centre. Khandu said PM is likely to visit Arunachal soon and will announce some Big projects for the state.
Speaking on achievements of his government, the Chief Minister said the govt has announced creation of Kamle district that was pending since union Territory days. He said the foundation stone for the district will be laid in December. He also said the state govt was able to make the Lower Siang functional that had remained non-functional since its creation for many years.
Khandu said Taliha constituency receives neither benefits from BADP nor from Urban Development schemes. He promised to give special attention to the constituency and said that in the current financial year 2017-18, the area will have adequate schemes of not less than Rs 50 crores.
Before addressing the public meeting the Chief Minister inaugurated the RCC school building of the govt higher secondary school, Taliha.
Khandu in his maiden visit here was accorded rousing reception by people of Taliha constituency that included gaon burhas, ponung party, students, panchayat leaders and public.
Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and State BJP President Tapir Gao accompanied him.
The Union Minister Kiren Rijiju inaugurated the RCC Girls Hostel of the govt higher secondary school, Kodak on way to Taliha.
Earlier, Rijiju in his speech assured to take up the matter for a JNV school for Upper Subansiri district and promised that the school will be established soon. He also announced to provide BSNL 3G Internet connectivity for Taliha constituency including road communication up to Taksing by December 2018.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein in his speech underlined the need for good road connectivity. He appealed the people to cooperate with the development efforts and not to cause hindrance to works by demanding huge compensation. He said the area has huge scope in horticulture and once the road connectivity is improved, the region can reap huge benefits.
State BJP President, Horticulture Parliamentary Secretary Punji Mara, former Minister Nyato Rigia also spoke on the occasion.
Raga MLA Tamar Murtem and Dumporijo MLA Pakgna Bage also attended the meeting.
