Lune Bane Kunu-Yami alleges misappropriation of MGNREGA Fund

Secretary, Lune Bane Kunu-Yami, Kitum Karga on Friday has levelled serious charges upon Anchal Samithi Member (ASM), ( Nomuk) Balar Bogo and his brother, incumbent BJP, Mandal, president of the area, Bajum Bogo for allegedly misappropriating a total amount of 7 lakhs sanctioned under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) for establishment of a Anganwadi school at Kuni Yami Village under Kamba circle.
In this regards an FIR has also been filled by Karga against the duo at Kamba Police station to probe misappropriation of public funds and initiate necessary action against them.
Addressing a press conference, Karga alleged that the duo purportedly forged the signatures of the villagers in order to get the money and claimed that they possess sufficient evidence along with RTI documents to probe the corruption.
Karga claimed that fabricated certain Documents to show the authority that the villagers were given approval for the said construction and with the help of the same allegedly obtained money and thereafter embezzled it.
Karga disclosed that villagers were unaware at first that an Anganwadi school is coming up at the village and the matter came to light through RTI documents that a project has been sanctioned under MNREGA for the said construction of the school.
“After obtaining the documents it was revealed that the ASM in connivance with others allegedly prepared and fabricated Muster Roll documents by entering bogus names with forged signatures of the beneficiaries for withdrawing their MNREGA wages,” he alleged.
Alleging various irregularities committed by the ASM in connivance, Karga informed that not only the material used was of low quality but the entire infrastructure of the school was below the quality and not according to the DPR.
He also alleged that, bogo, in the land, where the school was constructed were allegedly cultivating paddy and ties domestic animal under the school classrooms and premises ,thereby making it unsuitable for students.
Suspecting involvement of concern officials in the cooperation activities, Karga alleged in many occasions several complaints were made to the concerned authority by villagers, but they did not take cognizance of the same nor any action was initiated against them.

Demanding action those involved, Karga also expressed resentment that despite lodging an, the concern police of Kamba is yet to initiate action in the case and demanded a free and fair probe into the whole episode in the interest of common public of the area.
furthermore he also appealed to BJP, state president Tapir Gao to take serious note of the corruption activities and terminate the Mandal Chief from his post immediately.
