Joti Mane of Arunachal Pradesh grab gold medal in 31st East Zone Junior Athletics Championship 2019
Joti Mane and Bamo Tanang of Arunachal Pradesh won the gold and Bronze in 31st East Zonal Level Athletic Championship-2019.

Participating in the 31st East Zone Junior Athletics Championship 2019, Joti Mane grabbed the first gold medal for Arunachal Pradesh by winning the U-20 girls’ 5000 m event. She also picked a bronze medal in 1500 m. Another athlete Bamo Tanang bagged a bronze in boys’ 10000 m event (U-20).
An 11-member team, including a coach, from Arunachal Athletics Association had participated in the competition held at Ranchi, Jharkhand on September 14-15 last.
Joti Mane, a BA first semester student of Dera Natung Govt College, has got trained under AAA coach M Priokumar Meitei at SLSA Sports complex, Chimpu.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pema Khandu took to twitter to congratulate the athletes for their splendid performance in the in 31st East Zone Junior Athletics Championship, Ranchi.
Posting a photograph of the medal wielding athletes on his twitter account, Khandu wrote: #Arunachal wins its first #gold in national athletics. Splendid performance in 31st #EastZone #JuniorAthletics Championship, Ranchi.

Arunachal Athletics Association president Padi Richo, who also heads the Arunachal Olympic Association, expressed satisfaction over the overall performance of the athletics team & congratulated the medal winners for making history by winning first gold medal for the state.
AAA general secretary Kage Dodum has announced a cash incentive of Rs 10,000 for the gold medalist, Rs 5,000 for bronze medalist and another Rs 5000 for team coach for their outstanding performance in the national arena.
