Itanagar: Felix flags off Riot Control Vehicle “ Vajra”
Speaking to the reporters, Felix informed that the police department gets 5 vehicles, of which 2 will be stationed at Itanagar, 1 each at Yupia, Pasighat and Bomdila.

Home Minister Bamang Felix flagged off the state’s first Riot Control Vehicle (RCV) popularly known as – VAJRA here at Police Headquarter, Itanagar on Sunday.
Speaking to the reporters, Felix informed that the police department gets 5 vehicles, of which 2 will be stationed at Itanagar, 1 each at Yupia, Pasighat and Bomdila.
Felix thanked the chief minister Pema Khandu, and finance minister Chowna Mein for modernization of police department. “The modernization of equipment in police department is not to counter with the people but to send a message to the mass of maintaining and abide to the law of the state,” he added.

He said that maintaining law & order of the state is also the moral responsibility of the citizen. He requested the people to support the police department and bring a change in law & order situation of the state.
Talking to Media , RP Uapadhyaya, DGP informed that VAJRA is popularly known as Riot control vehicle. It is useful for State Police and Para Military Forces to control unruly mob, civil unrest, and riots, he said.
Further he informed that ” This vehicle is equipped with special features like Multi Tube Shell Launchers in front and rear to lob tear gas shell. The vehicle is having capacity to carry commander with 12-armed police personals”.
Meanwhile , the department has sought for another 5 RCV which is on the way and if needed more will be brought, earlier informed the minister.
