A 48-year old man from Laba Village, Nyapin circle under Kurung Kumey district has been reportedly got drowned in Ranganadi river, in Sher under Kimin circle today at around 14:00 hrs while trying to cross the river.
Kimin OC Kime Kommo informed that as per information received from one Tadar Kioda resident of Dam Site, Naharlagun went to his horticulture garden of Rubber plantation site near VKV School, Sher.
He went for gardening purpose along with other relatives, after completion of his work Kioda while coming back from downside of the river reportedly got drowned, while other relatives crossed the river from upside, OC Kommo said.
Two teams of police and public along with magistrate with support of ITBP has been engaged for searching of the body since then. Due to darkness search operation was however stopped.
We are expecting that tomorrow morning NDRF team will also join the search operation for retrieval of the body, he said.
A case is being registered and investigation is being launched, OC added.
