The denizens of Itanagar capital city today faced water crisis due to due to breakdown of the main pipeline of the intake point located near Poma in Sangdupota Circle last night, causing disrupted water supply in capital city. .
Itanagar PHED Asstiant Engineer Debia Padang inform this that the major parts of the Itanagar city have been affected since last night as the 11 MLD water supply to Water Treatment Plant (WTP) located at Geker Putung have been disrupted following fallen of large rock over the 450 MM dia pipeline at around 5 Kilometre away from Poma village in Sangdupota circle of Papum Pare district.
Around 15 metre length of the stretch have been completely damaged and disrupted under the impact of the huge rock which might took place last night.
Two JCB with around 20 workers, mechanic and fitters, 3 engineers including himself is supervising the restoration work. Round the clock work is being carried out and hopeful that it is restored by Monday afternoon. Padang added.
