IMI Delegation meets CM Pema Khandu, discussed issues related to Himalayan states

A delegation of Indian Mountain Initiative (IMI) led by President Sushil Ramola and Secretary Fantry Mein Jaswal called on Chief Minister Pema Khandu and congratulated him on assuming the office.
During the call on, the IMI delegation discussed with the Chief Minister Pema Khandu on the need to incorporate issues of the Himalayan states in the Fifteenth Finance Commission (FFC) recommendations to incentive’s the mountain states for enabling them to provide ecosystem services.
The IMI delegation made a presentation to Chief Minister on interventions necessary on areas such as disaster management, expanding green coverage, reducing erosion, enabling the mountain states to cope up with influx of tourists etc.
Chief Minister assured all support of the state government to IMI and for necessary cooperation with all the CMs of the 11 mountain states of the Himalayan region to deal effectively with the unique challenges these region faces.
