Arunachal Police organises Run for ” Crime Free Arunachal”

Arunachal Pradesh Police on Sunday organised  10 km Run in Itanagar on the occasion of its forthcoming 45th Raising Day. The theme of the run was “Crime Free Arunachal”.

The response  from the public was overwhelming and over 400 participants from different age groups (both males and females) took part in the race. Out of these, 210 completed the full race. There was a simultaneous “Fun Race” of 4.5 km also for those who didn’t want to run the longer distance.

The run “Crime Free Arunachal” was flagged off at IG Park by Parliamentary Secretary Home & Education  Pani Taram in the presence of DGP Sandeep Goel and IGP Sunil Garg. Commandant 1st Bn Tojo karga, SP Yupia Tume Amo, IPS Shweta Chauhan, SP crime Dr. Navdeep Singh Brar and several other police officers were also present and participated in the race for motivation of the runners. The run took the route of IG Park, Secretariat, Ganga market, R K Mission, Chander Nagar, then turning from Chimpu and culminating at Police Headquarters.

Taram while addressing the participating boys and girls encouraged them to keep physically fit and exhorted everyone to contribute towards achieving a totally crime free society in the peaceful State of Arunachal Pradesh. It is for the first time that the State Police has organised a RUN on the occasion of its raising day.

T-Shirts and Caps with Arunachal Police Logo were given to all participants. The prize money for winners was kept as Rs. 20000, 15000, 10000  respectively for first second and third positions (both male and female).  All those who completed the race will get participation certificate. The prizes to the winners (first three positions) would be given by the Chief Guest Home Minister Kumar Waii at PTC Banderdewa in the main function of the APP Raising Day on 8th November.

In men category  Mudang Omo, Bamo Tamang and Karbi Kema secured first, second and third positions with the timings of (32.02, 35.06, 35.30 mins respectively while in Women’s category, Obur Sibo, Yabang Tali and Yanu Ruyi were first, second and third position winners with timings of (44:06,44:25,46 mins respectively).

Taram further appeal one and all to take part in daily exercise which keep us fit and fine with lots of energy by which we can do more work in day long duty. He also lauded all partisans apart from the students and youths.
