Arunachal: NESA asks Nyishi MLAs, not to support PRC

The Nyishi Ethnic Students of Arunachal (NESA) threatened all the Nyishi MLAs not to support any move of the government for providing PRC to Non-APST and also not to support any amendment in the rule of law in this regard.  NESA also threatened for a mass democratic movement against the statement for issue of PRC if it is not rollback.

Addressing  a press conference at Arunachal press club NESA President, Biri Chattum has strongly opposed the announcement made by Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein to grant PRC to non-APST residing in Lekang Circle, Namsai District recently.

It must be mention here that, Nyishi community have 14 MLAs in Arunachal Legislative Assembly.

Chattum also raised the question , on the govt’s decision for issuing PRC to Non-APST, and ask the authorities  not to issue PRC which would be tantamount to inhabitant of the local ingenious population of the state.

Referring to Bengal Eastern Frontier Act 1873, he claimed that as per the Act, no land possession certificate or Permanent residence certificate  (PRC) can be issued to Non-APST unless a new amendment is brought under the Act.

The granting of PRC to Non/APST will also violate the Inner Line Permit (IPL) and we will never allow Arunachal to become next Tripura, ” Chattum said.

The spokesperson, Byabang Noah Dui, who is also present on the press conference, said that  ” The state government should focus to resolve the other burning  Issues such as Chakma Hajong, boundary dispute between Arunachal and Assam, focus international border issue with centre for peace in the region.
