Chief Minister Pema Khandu today wished members of the Nyishi community on the auspicious occasion of Nyokum Yullo, the most important festival celebrated by the largest community of the state.
In a solemn message here this evening, Khandu expressed pain on the loss of precious young lives in the recent agitation against and appealed all to remember them and pray for peace to their souls while invoking Mother Nyokum this celebration.
“We were witness to very bad times, which we need to leave behind and work together for peace and progress of our state. May this Nyokum be a call for peace and strengthen the brotherhood amongst the indigenous communities of our state,” Khandu said.
He further appealed elders and youths of the community to shoulder the responsibility of the “big brother” tag and show the path of peace and progress to the rest.
