Arunachal: Army Commander calls on the Governor

Lt General Manoj Mukund Naravane, called on the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar.

General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command of Indian Army Lt General Manoj Mukund Naravane, AVSM, SM, VSM called on the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar on 6th November 2018. It was a courtesy call. A highly decorated infantry officer, Lt. Gen. Naravane was commissioned into the seventh battalion of Sikh Light Infantry in June 1980.

In the meeting, the Governor shared his committed endeavour for recruitment of youth of Arunachal Pradesh in the Indian Army. He said that with the focusing of our  youth in the Army, it will be multifaceted advantage, as the youth of the State are tough, know the terrain of the Border Areas like back of their hands, they are well adapted to the topography and have inherent son of the soil instinct to defend every inch of our land. In addition, it will be the best approach to mitigate the ever growing challenge of unemployment amongst the youth of the State.

The Governor complimented the Indian Armed Forces for maintaining the territorial integrity of the Nation, particularly in the Arunachal Pradesh. He suggested for more Sadbhavana programmes of the Indian Army in the State.

General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command assured the Governor of his best efforts for the welfare and wellbeing of the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
