The inauguration ceremony was also attended by a large number of senior officers and troops of Narangi Military Station. The General Officer in his inaugural address emphasized the importance of this noble gesture by which one can help in saving the life of a dying man and also insisted that every individual who is fit to donate blood must donate at least 3-4 times in his lifetime.
He lauded the help extended by Blood Bank of Guwahati Medical College & Hospital not only for the camp but also during any need for blood or blood products for the troops and families of Indian Army. The general Officer also stated that as a goodwill gesture to Guwahati Medical College & Hospital for providing constant support to Indian Army, all the collected blood units will be given to the Blood Bank of Guwahati Medical College & Hospital for the benefit of general public.
The camp was attended by a large number of blood donors including senior officers of Indian Army where a total of more than 250 units of blood were collected. Rave reviews where received from various civilian dignitaries who lauded this praiseworthy effort of Indian Army for the general public.
