Itanagar
The staff and members of Arunachal State Commission for Women (APSCW) are apprehensive of collapse of their office building located in C-sector along NH-415 as portion of the office building is hanging in air due to ongoing four-lane works.
Most of the staffs were piping to backside repeatedly fearing the building might collapse any time as was observed on Friday.
When asked about the situation, APSCW Radhilu Chai Techi said that she was helpless as all of them are scared because of the damaged condition of the building. Member-secretary Yame Higio also resented that as some portion of the office area was within the right of way (RoW) for widening the four-lane, Itanagar PWD (highway) division EE and constructing agency T K Engineer Consortium Pvt Ltd (TKE) had dismantled that portion and drawn a map for the four-lane to which the APSCW had consented and a protection wall was built.
But, shockingly on a Saturday night the protection wall was damaged by the constructing agency that led to collapse of bath room of the chairperson and left the room of vice chairperson Heyomai Tawsik hanging in air reflecting total negligence, Chai said.
When the attention of the EE and TKE was drawn on Monday, they had assured to build a protection wall within seven days, but nothing tangible was visible even after five days, she added.
