Arunachal Marks Republic Day with Unity, Resolve
Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik led the 77th Republic Day celebrations in Itanagar, emphasising constitutional values, reforms and inclusive development.

ITANAGAR- The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt. General KT Parnaik, (Retd.), graced the 77th Republic Day celebrations held at Indira Gandhi Park, Itanagar, on January 26, 2026. The Governor unfurled the National Flag, reviewed the ceremonial parade and took the salute of the marching contingents, which were commanded by Deputy Superintendent of Police Dusu Kaling, APPS.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor extended Republic Day greetings to the people of the state and called upon citizens to collectively reaffirm their commitment to constitutional values, democratic institutions and national unity. He described the occasion as particularly inspiring, noting that the year marks the 150th anniversary of the national song Vande Mataram and reflects the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
The Governor said Arunachal Pradesh, with its cultural diversity and strategic significance, stands firmly committed to upholding the ideals enshrined in the Constitution. He highlighted the resilience, discipline and patriotism of the people of the state, and said these qualities continue to guide Arunachal’s progress alongside national reforms.
YUPIA- In papum pare district the celebrations commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Deputy Commissioner, Papum Pare, Ms. Vishakha Yadav, followed by the National Anthem and a ceremonial salute. In her Republic Day address, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the major developmental achievements and progress made by various departments in the district over the past year and expressed hope that the momentum would continue in the years ahead.
TAWANG- The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm across Tawang district, marking the occasion with unity, pride, and vibrant public participation. The day commenced with Prabhat Pherris taken out by school students, who filled the streets with patriotic slogans, followed by the unfurling of the National Flag at various educational institutions and private establishments. The main celebration was held at the General Parade Ground, Tawang, where the Deputy Commissioner, Tawang, Namgyal Angmo, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and unfurled the National Flag. The event was attended by several distinguished dignitaries including Superintendent of Police Dr. D.W. Thongon, DFO Piyush Gaikwad, IFS, representatives from Tawang Monastery, Indian Army, SSB.
SEPPA- East Kameng District celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The programme began with the unfurling of the National Flag by Ms. Yashaswani B, Deputy Commissioner, Seppa, followed by a ceremonial parade featuring security personnel, schoolchildren, and cultural troupes. The celebrations highlighted the district’s rich cultural heritage through traditional dances, folk songs, and indigenous displays. Various government departments set up information stalls to showcase public welfare schemes and services, drawing keen interest from the public. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest commended the people of East Kameng for their unity and resilience, stressing the need to preserve cultural traditions while embracing development. Commendation certificates were presented to officials for their exemplary service. The event concluded with a cultural programme, instilling a renewed sense of national pride.
ZIRO- The 77 th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at the General Ground, Dani Kuniya Government Higher Secondary School, Ziro, on Monday. The Deputy Commissioner, Lower Subansiri District, Mrs Oli Perme has graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and unfurled the National Flag and inspected the parade contingents, followed by a colourful march-past. She highlighted the significance of the Constitution and reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to inclusive, people-centric and sustainable development.
ROING- The RIWATCH solemnly observed the 77th Republic Day at its campus in Khinjili, Roing. The celebration was marked by a sense of patriotism and collective reflection on the constitutional values of the nation. Dr. Mechek Sampar Awan, Centre Head, RCML–RIWATCH unfurled the National Flag. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Awan emphasized the responsibilities and duties of citizens in upholding the Constitution of India. He highlighted the importance of civic responsibility, national unity, and active participation in nation-building, urging all present to contribute meaningfully toward the growth and progress of India.
BASAR– The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at the Todak Basar Memorial Stadium here at Basar Headquarters. Deputy Commissioner, Leparada, Ms. Himani Meena, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and unfurled the National Flag, marking the formal commencement of the celebrations. The programme witnessed an impressive parade presented by students from various schools, reflecting discipline, unity, and national pride. Addressing the gathering on the auspicious occasion, DC Meena highlighted the various initiatives, achievements, and developmental efforts undertaken to transform Leparada into a model district. She also reiterated the commitment of the district administration towards inclusive growth, good governance, and public welfare.
PASIGHAT- The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic zeal across East Siang district, with Chief Guest Deputy Commissioner Ms. Sonalika Jiwani, addressing at Outdoor Stadium Pasighat ,highlighted the significance of the occasion while also speaking on the district’s significant achievements in the process of infrastructure
transformation , urban governance, livelihood generation, and public service delivery,, health & education towards inclusive and sustainable growth and urged for collective efforts for making the district the one of the best performing in all development sectors, economic & investment hub to meet up the expectations of the citizens and the aspirations and entrepreneurial goals of the youth and the people in general. Padma Shri Yanung Jamoh Lego and Pasighat MLA , Tapi Darang attended as Guest of Honour and Special Guest.
TEZU- In Lohit district. Deputy Commissioner Kesang Ngurup Damo unfurled the National Flag as the Chief Guest and took the salute at the ceremonial parade held at the district headquarters. The occasion was attended by MLA Dr. Mohesh Chai, former minister Nakul Chai, former MLA Karikho Kri, senior officers of the Indian Army and ITBP, Superintendent of Police Lohit Thutan Jamba, ZPM Tezu Baplalum Chiba, heads of departments, administrative officers, NCC cadets, Scouts and Guides, students, and a large gathering of the public. After unfurled the Tricolour, DC Kesang Ngurup Damo extended Republic Day greetings to the people of Lohit and paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters and martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation. He recalled the adoption of the Constitution on 26 January 1950 and highlighted the values of democracy, unity, equality and national integrity enshrined in it.
