Meghalaya: Former CM Dr. DD Lapang quit congress, joined NPP
Former Meghalaya CM Dr DD Lapang resigned from Congress party and joined National People’s Party (NPP).

National People’s Party (NPP) Arunachal Pradesh heartily welcomes veteran political leader and former Chief Minister of Meghalaya Dr. D.D. Lapang who resigned from the congress party recently and joined the National People’s Party (NPP) in presence of Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, C&RD Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar, NPP State President Dr. W.R Kharlukhi and a host of other political leaders on 10th December 2018 at Nongpoh in Ri-Bhoi district, Meghalaya.
His joining to the party will definitely strengthen the hand of Conrad K Sangma as well as party organisation in North East and is termed the biggest blessings to the party and also boost up the moral of NPP leaders as well as workers in North East.
Dr. DD Lapang who serves five times as Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Deputy Chief Minister, Minister with various capacities during his fifty years of politics. His experiences, wisdom and knowledge will guide the party to grow further as well propagate the agenda of the concerns of the people of Northeast.
