Johny Mangkhaiya of Arunachal will represent India in Asian games-2018

Johny Mangkhaiya, the young karataka of Arunachal Pradesh today selected by Karate Association of India (KAI) to represent the 2018 Asian games to be held at Indonesia this year.

Interacting to media Olympic Association of Arunachal Pradesh Secretary General A. K. Techi inform that the state is proud to know that the our young Karataka Johny Mangkhaiya have been selected at national level selection test held at Bhopal yesterday and today where she performed well in compare to previous time.

 She will represent Indian Karate team in Women individual Kumite-68 KG weight and in the forthcoming 2018 Asian Games to be held at Indonesia from August 18 to September 2nd at Jakarta and Palembang in Indonesia.

Techi said it is a proud moment for us and people of state have high expectation from her and hope that  she would do well and attain the expectation of the people of state in the athletic and games and sport as a whole. He said the youths of state should learn from her so that every individual can do well in their profession to become a fine gentleman and serve the society and state as a whole. Techi Added.

Arunachal Karate Association President  Shihan Likha Tara  while said that we have high expectation and hope from Mangkhaiya who will represent the state. Tara said that the selection test was done after the tree month training of the selected karatakas of the country who undergone three month training in Iran and recently back home and directly went for selection test which held at Bhopal.

Tara said that after the selection of Johny Mangkhaiya we have been informed by the national level selectors who are also part of the KAI who have been always guiding factor for the Karataks at national level.

Johny Mangkhaiya after the selection she was given away a certificate of selection by Karate Association of India (KAI) President Karate R. Thiagarajan and General Secretary Bharat Sharma at a function in Bhopal today.

Mangkhaiya a national champion at various level in in senior and junior category who won gold in + 59 KG at KAI Senior national championship-2013 Delhi, Gold in -68 KGKumite at KAI senior national karate championship 2015 Delhi, Silver in -68 KG kumite KAI Senior national karate championship 2016 Kerala, Bronze -68 KG Kumite U-21 KAI national championship 2016 Delhi, Bronze +59 KG Kumite KAI Senior national Karate Championship 2014 Delhi, Silver +60 KG kumite  59 national school games   2014 Delhi, Silver + 60 KG Kumite 60 national school games 2014 (MP), Gold 68 KG Kumite 8th commonwealth Karate championship 2015 Delhi and many others.

Several personalities attached with sports in state have congregated Manghaiya on her selection for Asian games 2018 which include Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Dani Salu, Arunachal Karate Association General Secretary Bulang Marik, Karate Technical Director S. Deban Sharma, Arunachal Hockey Association President Tayum Tok Camdir.
