The above photograph is of a Notice Board which was erected at Itanagar PS today and all Police Station, Check Gates, etc under Capital Complex will have this notice board soon, informed Capital SP Tumme Amo.
“There have been allegations of corruptions in various departments including police and despite best efforts for years together, we have not been able to ensure that such allegations do not take place. Hence, this notice board is erected as one of the means to fight alleged corruption in Capital Police” , SP Said.
There have allegations of taking money at check gates to allow various vehicles and persons without ILP’s. There have also been allegations of taking money by IOs to settle cases or register non-bailable cases under bailable sections, and even taking money for issue of missing certificates for loss of documents, etc.
Hence, “it is to request our good citizens of Capital Complex to report such demands for money, if any, and help us in curbing corruptions” Amo said.
You can also report to senior officers of PHQ, if such corrupt practices, come to your knowledge or any demands for money are made by any officer or man of Capital Police.
