BSF Guwahati Frontier Launched Cleanliness Drive

Troops of BSF Guwahati Ftr conducted a cleanliness drive at various places in Guwahati with the help of civil authorities, on Thursday. A special cleanliness drive was initiated at VIP Chauk near LGBI airport Guwahati, Kalimandir Road, Dharapur & its surrounding area and in Ftr HQ Ghty campus to mark the occasion. Cleanliness drive was led by A K Singh, DIG/PSO BSF Guwahati Ftr, in which 400 BSF & NDRF Officers, Jawans, their families & civilians participated. During the drive SDM Azara & other police personnel were also remain present. Everyone took part in the drive with great activeness and enthusiasm.
On the occasion, A K Singh, DIG/PSO also said that we the sentinels of the borders are not only confined to our assigned duties, but are also donning the garb of Sentinels of the Environment. Measures to strike a healthy balance between mans needs and nature & preserving the nature for generations ahead will be discussed & disseminated during the expedition. He further said that we as responsible citizens of India, work with sole aim to contribute towards saving and preserving our environment, by involving the masses and will continue with our endeavors with endless preservance.
The aim of the campaign was to create awareness among civil population and various other stake holders pertaining to ensure basic cleanliness of day to day life starting from our own dwelling, besides various measures for ensuring cleanliness of our environment.
The local people, dignitaries well appreciated this praise worthy work done by BSF & NDRF.
