Arunachal: woman’s body found in Dikrong river bank

The relatives have been located and the body has been later identified by her husband.

A body of 40-year-old women was found Near Dikrong Bridge on the bank of river Dikrong today afternoon. Naharlagun SDPO Riki Kamsi inform the reporters that on being received information from the local youth to Capital SP Tumme Amo about a dead body lying on the bank of river Dikrong near Dikrong bridge, Nirjuli at around 13.50 hrs. He, alongwoth police team from Nirjuli Police station, and Magistrate rushed to the spot and found that an unidentified dead body of a women was lying on the bank of river Dikrong just opposite of Orchid Water factory.

The team of Nirjuli Police station led by OC Inspector OC Nirjuli Inspector Tadu Hassang, ASI K Tacha and inquest was done in presence of local Magistrate. The Place of occurrence (PO) was thoroughly searched and recovered one wrist watch, empty wallet, and a pair of footwear. Her mobile phone was not found at the spot. There body was lying on the bank facing upwards and some blood stain were also seen on the face and also there was sign of injuries on head and face,  He said.

The relatives have been located and the body has been later identified by her husband. The body was later taken to RKMH for preservation and PME will be conducted tomorrow at TRIHMS.

A case of murder and rape have already been registered and further investigation have been launched. As of now no arrest have been made, police informed.

Capital SP Tumme Amo while informed that deceased was a housewife while husband is employed as Private security guard at NERIST.

Daughter of deceased has stated that yesterday she told her father that she would visit one of her friend at Dikrong colony. Since then she did not return home.  her friend has stated that she had come but left after tea with her.

As per the husband & daughter she went missing since 4 PM of 4th July 2019 and even did not pick up their calls. Her daughter reported that she had no mental illness.

Rape is not confirmed so far. After PME it will be confirmed and all possible angles are being investigated now. Amo added.
