Arunachal: School boy drowns in Yachuli pond 

A Class V student of Mount Mission School, Yachuli got drowned in a fish pond on August 15 on the day of the independence day in Yachuli in Lower Subansiri district.

It is reported that the deceased Tar Tach, son of Tar Khili (Pech) of Kugi village, a Class V student was drowned in a fish pond on August 15. The incident takes place after students participated in the 73rd independence day celebration at Yachuli ground with other students and school authority. Reportedly few students including the victim went to the fish pond mistaking as safe place for bathing and reportedly got drowned in the muddy water.

All Lower Subansiri district students union (ALSDSU) in a release while condoling the demise of minor school boy prayed for bereaved family. ALSDSU President Lishi Tayo inform that the team of ALSU have visited  the spot of incident.

He said that there are no prohibitive or safety measures like  fences and boundary were erected  around the fish pond to stop  minors from  entering in such dreadful area for children’s and also found that the incident was happened also due to careless of the school authority.

ALSDSU however have demanded action against school authority & fisheries Department for  recklessness which amounting to the loss of innocent live. The Union urge for adequate compensations to the victim family from school authority and fishery department.

When contacted, Yazali police station Officer Incharge T Passor inform that on receipt of information the police team have inspected the place of occurrence. After conducting legal formalities the body have been handed over to the legal guardian for conducting last rite.

He further inform that a case of unnatural death have been registered in Yazali PS and further investigation have been launched.
