Arunachal: PDS Scam handed over to CBI- Jarpum Gamlin

Alleging there was a massive corruption in Arunachal’s PDS Scam which drained the scarce development fund of the state, the state government has came out with bold decision to handed over the Public Distribution System (PDS) 2004 – 2007 to CBI by the state government on Friday.

Addressing the media person here at Arunachal Press Club (APC), state unit BJP general secretary Jarpum Gamlin said that state’s Bharatiya Jana Party (BJP) government has been maintaining the ideology of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas with the principles of transparency, good governance and accountability.

Informing that state’ BJP government would not protect any individual person who is involved in massive PDS scam, Gamlin said, “The State government has referred the PDS scam in the state to CBI for a fair and independent investigation. And it is hope that the CBI will thoroughly investigate and book the culprits who have been continuously taking the state and its people to ransom,”

He said though the scam of the period 2001-2004 is under sub-judice and investigation is made through court and cannot divulge more about it and action is being initiated from time to time.

Briefing the achievement of BJP government, that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu in the state has brought in major structural reforms within the short span of 12 months, Gamlin further said, “This is just a beginning of the BJP government’s war against corruption menace which is an adversary to the development of the state,” adding that in their crusade against the corruption and nepotism they have handed over the recruitment of all group B post to the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission for free and fair recruitment process.

Disclosing that Departmental Promotion Committee meeting were not being held timely and regularly to the eligible officers/officials which forced many genuine officials to stagnate inordinately at a particular post for years, Gamlin informed that all the HODs has been directed to ensure that the DPC meeting to be held on regular intervals so that promotion of the officers are taken place timely.

“BJP government in the state is on process for “New Arunachal Mission 2022” that will give a concrete road map and its implementation in a time bound manner. And that will synchronize with the prime minister’s vision for a new India by 2022, when development will take the shape of a mass movement,” said Gamlin adding that state BJP government’s endeavour is to take the State of Arunachal Pradesh to the highest level of development in all sectors.

 Earlier, while appreciating district magistrate for strictly deal with the Abotani Clan Organisation (ATCO) proposed 12 hours capital bandh on 29 December, vice president State BJP unit Tame Phassang said that to press the demands organization should have opted for other means of agitation.

Declaring the scheduled bandh as a total unsuccessful, Phassang further said, “If the demand is genuine then that demand should be place through proper channel to the state government,” adding that such bandh calls causes untold hardship and misery to the suffering patients, students and business community.
