International labour day celebrated across the state by the labour and workers community. In India the day is also celebrated as May day with great enthusiasm by the workers community.
The day celebrated at state capital by All Arunachal Pradesh workers union at its headquarters at Nyakum Lapang where large numbers of workers community participated.
All Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation ( AAPPTF) President Dobing Sonam and All Garku Abu Welfare Society ( AGAWS) President Taba Taku attended as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Addressing the function Chief guest Dobing Sonam in his address said that labour force is the biggest force of the development of infrastructure and all round development. He emphasis upon the workers community to work sincerely and shoulder the responsibility in nation building.
There have been complain that few workers do not carry their work efficiently and sincerely but always ask for salary is not good but they should change their attitude as everybody support is required for all round development of our area, city, state and country.
Referring to memorandum submitted, Sonam said that the right and privilege of labour and workers community need to be addressed by the government. He hope that the new government will give natural justice and right and privilege as per demand of several labour organisation including AAPWU and others.
Guest of honour Taba Taku while elaborated the need of formation of labour union and other organisation in the greater interest of labour and workers community. He elaborated the rights and privilege of the workers.
AAPWU president cum over all Incharge Tagu Taku, Organising chairman Techi Tara, Secretary Seneral Tadar Chai, organising secretary Tinkai Jamik among other address the gathering.

A point memorandum submitted on the occasion demanding for equal pay with equal job and other demands which are yet to be implemented.
Earlier the programme began with flag hosting by the dignitaries, felicitation of sincere and dedicated labour leaders and guest and other with cultural performances.
Report of May day celebration have also reached from various parts of state. Arunachal Pradesh Labour Union ( APLU) celebrated the function in it’s own way at Itanagar head office at Nirjuli.
Labour Commissioner cum Registrar of Trade Union etc, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Ojing Darang attended as chief guest in presence of AAPLU President Dana Tadu and several others Executive Members including large gathering of labour and workers community from organised and unorganised sector.
Labour Commissioner Darang on the occasion termed the workers community as the builders and appeal all to work hard and shoulder their responsibilities liability in nation building activities. He urge upon the registered workers to avail several benefits of the labour board.
