Arunachal: Dikto Yekar demand re-poll at Soki polling station

Claiming the booth capturing in 22-Soki Polling station of 24 Daporijo Assembly Constituency, the sitting MLA and Janata Dal United (JDU) candidate Dikto Yekar demanded for re-polling at said polling station.
Addressing media person here today at Arunachal Press club, Yekar claim that BJP supporter was captured the polling station and BJP workers did not allow a group of 17 voters from of said polling station who are supporting JDU party to cast their vote on the day, also threatened the voters not to cast vote.
He also alleged that the BJP supporter cast the vote in the name of five those voters who are not alive. The BJP supporter also physically assaulted a female voter during the voting day on 11 April last, he alleged.
Yekar alleged that, 321 vote has been cast in against total electorates of 323 including 14 postal ballot vote which is 99.38 percents of the total electorate and this is indicating that there was booth capturing in Soki Polling station.
Regarding incident the Daporijo JDU unit, Election agents of JDU said that the 17 person who has not been allowed to cast their vote, has submitted a representation to the Returning Officer (RO) cum District Election Officer (DEO) alleging infringement of adult franchise at Soki polling station on April 11, 2019 during General Assembly and Lok Sabha election, thereof demanding fresh re poll.
Demanding justice the JDU workers and 17 electorates were also conducted dharna in fronts of Daporijo Deputy Commissioner office and protest march in the township. He added.
He alleged that even inspite of direction from state Nirvachan Bhawan to submit factual report from the Returning officer cum district election officer, the RO cum DEO is on leave and not authorised any other officer to forward the report with relevant documents to state nirvachan bhawan by April 24 is a matter of great concern and understood that the DEO and RO is willingly undermining the genuine request of the candidate as well as electors those who was not given to vote at poling station on April 11.
Public minded leader is require in state, so election should be conducts as free and fair, if such practice booth capturing , threaten the voter is going on in state how can Arunachal Pradesh will develop, they are not real leader who encourage such practice, we JDU condemned such leader and incidents said Runhi Tagung JDU State Co convener. He demanded investigation and fresh poll at Soki poling station.
