Chief Minister Pema Khandu has extended best wishes on the holy festivals of Durga Puja, Dussehra and Navratri, which are celebrated across India in different forms and are major Hindu festivals cerebrated with high religious fervor.
In a message this evening, Khandu expressed hope and belief that the holy celebrations would strengthen the bond between fellow human beings and foster brotherhood and humanity.
“Durga Puja celebrates the victory of the goddess Durga over the demon king Mahishasura, while Dussehra is celebrated to commemorate the victory of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana. Both the festivals signify the triumph of good over evil. The universal message behind the celebrations holds so true to the current context of a progressing society like ours,” he pointed.
“Navratri, a nine-night festival, celebrates the divine feminine, emphasising the age-old tradition of respecting and protecting the fairer sex,” Khandu added.
The Chief Minister, meanwhile, appealed people and devotees to celebrate the joyous festivals with caution with regards to safety and security of all.
“Let the celebrations set an example of peace and harmony for which our state is known for,” he said.
