Home Minister Bamang Felix today said that he will meet with the 183 protesting candidates who alleged the Police Department is not following proper procedure while making an appointment under the compassionate ground scheme, on November 7 afternoon to hear out their grievances.
Reacting to the ongoing protest by the candidates at Tennis Court, I G Park, Felix stated that instead of protesting in street they should have come to the office or submit a representation to state their grievances.
“I have asked them to submit a representation in writing which they have not done it and are on protest in a street. However, I have directed my OSD to convey them to come and meet me on Thursday afternoon,” he added.
On the other side, the protesting candidates while speaking to the media persons raised their discontentment over no words or visits from the authority.
Further, they stated that they will end their protest if assurance is given from the authority.
It is to be mentioned here that the candidates are in protest for many days now, alleging the Police Department of not following proper rules and procedures. However, the Police Department has repeatedly claimed that recruitment was done following a proper procedure.
