Arunachal: State level chess tournament begins

The 9th State Level Open FIDE rating chess tournament organised by All Arunachal Pradesh Chess Association begins today here at Si Donyi Indoor hall.

Almost 80 participants from different parts of the state are taking part in the tournament.

Former chairman state rubber board Likha Maj urged the participants to maintain discipline stating that winning and losing are part and parcel of any game and the players must learn to accept defeat gracefully”.

Stating the chess as game of brain remembering famous Biswanthan Anand and Magnus Carlsen and appeal them to set in mind to become a good player from state who can bring laurel for state

He also informed about 10 percent job reservation for meritorious sportspersons in Government departments have been kept and the opportunity have to be graved. He assures his full support to the organisation at any time.

Yachuli ZPM Taba Techi said that playing chess exercise both sides of the brain and improves brain performance and encouraged the young and inspiring talents to go ahead with their games and sports skills and participate in all the major events in India and abroad.”

AAPCA chief patron Repo Ronya, President Er Niapung Konia and vice president Talam Har Neelam also spoke on the occasion.
