Sainik School and Recruitment Centre will be Established in Arunachal

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar agreed to a proposal for establishing two Sainik Schools and two permanent recruitment centre in Arunachal Pradesh, in view of the increasing recruitment to the ranks of defence forces from the state mooted by Arunachal Chief Minister Kalikho Pul before him.
According to the proposal, two sainik schools, one at Tezu in the eastern region and one at Shergaon in the western region would be establish. While the permanent recruitment centre, would be establish at Tawang for the western zone and Tezu for the eastern zone.
The CM mentioned that establishment of Sainik School and a permanent recruitment centre in the state would help local youth join defence forces who are well versed with the local terrain.
The Union Minister also agreed to revise the MoA to make easier for use of the Advanced Landing Ground (ALG) used by the defence forces for civilian purposes. This would enable emergency deployment of helicopters in times of emergencies and medical evacuations.
To provide a decent lifestyle for the border communities, the CM pushed for forward area facilities and requested for a special package to build CC foot tracks, permanent foot suspension bridges, hutments, culverts and other infrastructure. According to him, such facilities would prevent border people to migrate to urban areas and easy movement for border patrol.
The CM also met Chief of Army Staff General Dalbir Singh.
