Kaziranga University Held its 3rd Convocation

Kaziranga University, one of North East India’s premier private universities, promoted by the North Eastern Knowledge Foundation (NEKF), held its 3rd Convocation on Tuesday. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Murli Dhar Khetan, Honorable Chancellor of the University; Bharat Ratna Professor Dr. C.N.R Rao; Mrs Tajinder Kaur, Pro Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, Punjab and Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Member of Parliament, Jorhat.
KU conferred two Honorary Doctorates to the esteemed guests on this day. Prof. Dr. Rao was bestowed with the Doctorate of Science Honoris Causa for his phenomenal contribution in the field of scientific research in India. The Doctorate of Philosophy Honoris Causa was conferred upon Mrs Tajinder Kaur for her path-breaking work towards rural development and empowerment of women in Punjab.
The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Sunil Rai, Honorable Vice Chancellor of the University. Dr. Murli Dhar Khetan delivered the Inaugural Address and presided over the convocation. The Convocation address was delivered by Prof. Dr. C.N.R Rao, Honorary President and Linus Pauling Research Professor, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre and Mrs Tajinder Kaur of Desh Bhagat University.
This day marked the graduation of 330 students of Kaziranga University, who received their degrees and medals. The batch of 2016 included graduates in Business Administration, Science, Commerce and Engineering, who completed a significant academic journey at Kaziranga University.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Murli Dhar Khetan and Dr. Sunil Rai both congratulated the new graduates and thanked their parents and guardians for their trust and support. Prof. Dr. Rao inspired the congregation with his words, highlighting the need for hard work, confidence and capability amongst the youth, to help India reach greater heights. Blessing the students, he advised them to listen to their inner voice and tread their own path. Mrs Tajinder Kaur emphasized on the relationship between Desh Bhagat University and Kaziranga University, strengthening their ties in order to connect North-East India and the rest of the country.
Kaziranga University has created a benchmark of excellence in providing an industry-based educational interface for Engineering, Science and Management students through its domain partners.
