Carpeting works on NH-415 in the Itanagar township area of state capital to began in this month, till then commuter have to face inconveniences, informed Toli Basar, Chief Engineer PWD and Highway.
Bassar while talking to Arunachal24 said that the works which is supposed to be completed in three years, and till date 30 % work have been executed.
It seems that the work progress is too slow but is not like that in actual. The drainage system is under progress at various locations, formation cutting is also underway.
The work got delayed due to monsoon rain and landslide in the capital complex, second reason is the this road is the life line of the people of capital complex. we can not closed the road for work purpose, because there is no alternate road.
Basar said that the work was supposed to be restart by October 1st, but it gets delay for few days due to the rain , Basar added.

However the local people and several NGOs have been demanding the capital district administration and executing agency ‘ T K Engineering Consortium Company Ltd’ to compelled the works in the township area right from Chandranagar to Rajbhawan point in A Sector in Itanagar out of total 10.5 KM stretch from Chanadranagar to Jully Try junction near Papu Nallah in Naharalgun.
The locals also demanded that the truck which sprinkle water on the dusty road may be continued twice or thrice in any case, as many people are getting in contact with the communicable disease due to dust allergy and other ailment, also many vehicle have been got rusting due to muddy road in rainy days.
NIrjuli Highway Executive Engineer Nani Tath said that there are only two major bridge in the total stretch with 36 Box culvert which would be constructed simultaneously, it is expected that the TK Engineering Consortium Pvt Ltd carry the work with more professional approach.
When asked about the pathetic condition of the Hollongi-Itanagar stretch of road at several point due to landslide and sinking and washing away of side drainage and others Tath said that the said stretch of road will also be taken up for repairing soon by December.
