The capital complex get its first vending zone at Gandhi Market when the DC Capital inaugurated it today. The first of its kind in the capital complex located at Gandhi Market area of the city which is accommodating 33 vendors.
Inaugurating the complex Itanagar Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan lauded the efforts of ALL Arunachal Pradesh Hawkers & Street Vendors Federation (AAPHSVF) and IMC in changing the system which will go a long way in shifting the vendors from streets to a safer place for marketing and earnings for the family. He said that few more vending zone are being created in other parts of the capital complex and that will be inaugurated soon in the interest of the vendors.
He assured to provide dustbin and place for storage of vegetables of the vendors. He also declare the Nyokum Lapang to P Sector ( 0 Point Tinali ) are as no Vending Zone and appeal that no one from today will allowed to put their vendors in the street of that area.
IMC Chief Councillor Kipa Kaku while said that the vendors need to rotated from their seat to pave way to all and it will maintain the healthy environment in the complex. She appeal to use dustbin and maintain cleanness in the area.
IMC Dy. Chief Councillor Tarh Nachung also appeal the vendors and their union leader to maintain peace and hygiene keep the items in proper way so that the customers may come again and again for their daily needs of local vegetables and others.
IMC Chief Municipal Executive Officer (CMEO) Habung Lapmpung delivered all issue related with contraction of the vending zone and further proposal and prospect of shifting of vendors to vending zone, AAPHSVF President Khyoda Yaji, General Secretary Roger Nabam Hina, IMC ESC Member Goral Tallang also address the vendors.
Jackets and identity cards were also distributed through Town Vending Committee, Itanagar by the visitors to the vendors.
