Security forces on Tuesday nabbed a self styled Lieutenant and Area Commander of Tikkam Mossang from Miao in Arunachal Pradesh.
According to Defence sources, Security forces got a information about a militant who was trying to terrorise the local people and extort money at Mio area. based on that intelligence input, Assam Rifles’s Jairampur Battalion launched an operation at Miao area and nabbed hardcore cadre of NSCN (R).
The nabbed militant was identified as Tikkam Mossang and security personnel recovered a pistol, live ammunition, Rs 20,000 of extortion money and other incriminating evidence in possession from him.
During the interrogation, the cadre admitted to being active part of the banned outfit. The Self Styled Lieutenant Joined NSCN (IM) in 2003 and defected to NSCN(R) in 2008 and has been active part of the banned outfit ever since. The cadre has been actively involved in extortion activities in Miao area.
Meanwhile the , Jairampur Battalion under the aegis of DAO DIVISION has been carrying out relentless operations in that area of Arunachal Pradesh to keep the area peaceful and out of clutches of insurgents. This apprehension will go a long way in creating fear among the anti national elements in the area sources said.
