Thousand of women from Papum Pare Christian Revival Church Council, Women Wing, (PPDCRCCWW) under APRCC today took out a mass public awareness campaign against polygamy practice having placards, leaflets etc and shouting slogans ‘Don’t Deceive Women’, ‘Don’t Use Women’ etc
With the theme “Polygamy Kills Family Happiness” the women group said that the campaign aims to spread awareness about the consequences of polygamy which not only affects a woman but to children as well society at large. “We want to address the issues of violence, discriminations, poverty which are end result of this evil practice and also too aware our young women about it”, Said PPCRC Women Wing Secretary Techi Martha Khoda.

She said that we are moving toward computer age and such practice in society do not anything good to the predecessor but lots of trouble and pain to the offspring and other family members in the name of polygamy
Several women Wing leaders address the gathering, few said that ‘we could share our money, property and time, but not our husband to other women. Few urge upon the men folks to be a good husband for the proper welfare and wellbeing of the family and community.
The mass awareness procession rally walked through the thoroughfare of the township.The event also enthralled and caught the attention of people passing by the roads through the stage music performance by local youths of Christian community.
