Arunachal: Heavy rains leave behind trail of destruction

The continuous day long heavy rains  leave behind a  trail of destruction in various parts of Arunachal Pradesh.

The day long heavy rainfall which began on mid night of June 12 and continue till early morning of June 14 have behind several land slide and devastation and untold suffering to the local people of state.

The trans Arunachal Highway (TAH) between Doimukh-Hoj Potin is a glaring example where the passengers were stranded for hours together as the road got blocked at several places and the commuters of Kurung Kumey district, Kra Daadi, Lower Subansiri, Kamle and Upper Subansiri district have to face the wasted several hours on the road at several location due to heavy rainfall and landslide and road blockage.

Kara Daadi district administration in a press release have restricted the plying of heavy vehicle due to completely washed away of portion of road near Tassar Village of Joram-Koloriang road has been in Kra Daadi District.

he inclement weather and incessant rain the District Administration in collaboration with TK Engineering & Consortium Pvt Ltd has made temporary diversion for plying of light vehicles. However, the road is not yet conducive for plying of heavy vehicles.

The Kra Daadi District Administration appeals to the public to avoid travelling during heavy rainfall and temporarily restrict plying of heavy loaded vehicles till the restoration work is completed.
however information received from the local sources said that the portion of road on Joram-Koloriang between Palin- Shakti, Palin-Yapap,

However Deputy Commissioner Kurung Kumey Kanki Darang while talking to this daily said that though heavy rainfall is recorder last days and today is normal, there was few landslide on the TAH connecting to Kurung Kumey district but it have been temporary resorted by constructing sub way.

We have meeting with all stake holders and the Kurung Kumey district administration is in high alert and ready to face in case of any disaster. Darang added.

Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner Incharge Tabang Bodung while said that the we are also prepared, The DC is out of station even though we have been preparing plan to check out disaster management under his supervision and he would join on June 22 and will have comprehensive plan to meet any eventuality of any disaster in the district. Bodung said.
