Arunachal: Assam forest officials stopped PMGSY road construction in Tarasso

Reportedly officers from Forest department of Biswanath district of Assam alongwith a huge contingent of armed force and forest protection force on Saturday stopped the under construction PMGSY road in Tarasso circle of Papum Pare district.

It is to mention that the PMGSY road measuring around 20 km is being constructed from Ramghat to Radasso in Tarasso circle connecting several villages of the circle inside the territory of Arunachal Pradesh, a top officials informed.

It is reported that the officials and security personnel has stopped the ongoing PMGSY road construction in Tarasso circle in pretext of reserved forest which is unfortunate said locals. Proper road connectivity is needed for everyone not only for people and villagers of Tarasso circle but the people of Assam side has been using the resources of the area including the road connectivity. Proper road connectivity enhance the economic condition and lifestyle of the people living on both side of the road which is need of the developing area of country.

The locals said that on several occasion we have to face situation like this and we the people living in bordering Assam side has to face several untold difficulties time and again.

Papum Pare police top officials inform Arunachal24.in that six company of para military forces and state police and commando of Assam led by top forest official and police officer on Saturday stopped the under construction PMGSY road in Radasso area of Tarasso circle. They also seized the folkland (earth mover) machine engaged there by  the executing agency.

Balijan Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tasso Gambo while confirming the incident inform that Tarasso Circle officer is monitoring the situation. He inform that in view of the above an emergent meeting on Inter-state border regarding have been convened by Biswanath Deputy Commissioner on December 11 at Biswanath Charali to discuses matter related to inter-state border.

Information received that DC Papum Pare, DFO Banderdewa, SP Papum Pare, ADC Balijan, SDPO Balijan, CO Tarasso and other officer from Papum Pare district is expected to attend the meeting at Biswanath Charali.

However, SP Papum Pare Jimmy Chiram inform that there is no law and order problem in Tarasso circle as of now.
