Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav, the three day Mega Cultural Event at Tawang came to an end today. Addressing the mammoth gathering as Chief Guest at Parade Ground during the closing ceremony, Kiren Rijiju, MoS for Home Affairs said that development is needed but not at the cost of losing ones culture and a perfect harmony of both is to be reached at.”We are fortunate enough to still have our identity alive. Factors that affect the loss of culture and identity is to be pondered upon and we should strive towards instilling the same within our children” he said. Expressing his gratefulness to the Govt. for giving Arunachal Pradesh an opportunity to host the 5th edition of the Cultural extravaganza, main objective of which is to preserve, promote and popularize the heritage, diversity and unity of Indian Culture and reconnect the new generation, Rijiju asked the participants from outside the State to share their experiences with their folks and thanked them for showcasing their rich and unique traditional art and theatre forms.
Dr.Mohesh Chai, Honble Minister , Art & Culture, Govt. of India also reiterated that the essential thrust of the festival is to bind the entire country in a single thread and to promote cultural inter-linkages amongst the people of North East.
Speaking during the occassion, Sri.Tsering Tashi, HMLA Tawang said that such festival not only promote tourism but also carry the message of brotherhood and promote unity. He further extended his gratitude to the Govt for creating a platform where the spirit of heritage and diversity of incredible India is celebrated.
The festival which is further being extended to other North Eastern states will finally conclude on 31st March’17.
The prestigious cultural confluence is being implemented through the seven zonal cultural centres and other cultural organizations under Ministry of Culture, Govt. Of India with the NEZCC, Dimapur been entrusted with the responsibility as the nodal agency.
