Arunachal: First bench of NCPCR will sit at Namsai to hear children rights cases
Such sitting of the commission would be organised in 50 divisions in the country containing atleast one district from 115 Aspirational districts identified by Niti Aayog.

The deputy Commissioner of Namsai district Dr Tapasya Raghav chaired a meeting today at his office with the administrative officers, CDPOs, staffs of NCPCR and Various NGOs of the district regarding the visit of Bench of National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR). In the meeting the NGOs were informed that a bench of NCPCR will be visiting the Namsai district on 21st of this month and would be conducting hearing related to child rights cases.
It was informed that the NCPCR was constituted in the year 2007 under CPCR 2005 to look into the matters pertaining to deprivation and violation of child rights. The commission also has mandate to monitor Right to Education Act, POCSO Act 2012, Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and other related laws. Any person whether he/she is a child, student, parent/guardian, NGO official, concerned citizen, government functionaries etc can file their complaints before the commission.
This is the first of its kind initiative of the commission for North Eastern states and the first bench will be held in Namsai District. Such sitting of the commission would be organised in 50 divisions in the country containing atleast one district from 115 Aspirational districts identified by Niti Aayog.
The two member bench comprising of Mr Yashwant Jain and Ms. Rozy Taba will be conducting the sitting on 21st of June 2019 and 11 adjoining districts will be participating in the process at Namsai viz : Namsai, Lohit, Anjaw, Tirap, Changlang, Longding, East siang, upper siang, siang, Dibang Valley and Lower Dibang Valley.
Registration of complaints will begin from 9 Am onwards and hearing will begin from 10 am . Separate Time Slots have been provided to each district starting with Dibang, Lower dibang Valley and Anjaw from 10 am to 11.30 am, Siang, East Siang and upper siang from 11.30 am to 1 pm, Tirap, Changlang and Longding from 2 pm to 3.30 pm and lastly Namsai and Lohit from 3.30 to 5 PM.
