Arunachal: Annual sports and cultural meet of RGGP begins

State Minister of Education Honchun Ngandam on Monday Unfurl the flag of annual sports and cultural meet here at Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic College (RGGP), Itanagar.
Speaking to the students on the occasion Ngandam said, “Change is only constant and being a student one should bring changes in academic and social life.” Students should be responsible and have notion of what to do and not to in a society for the social changes. This is really needed as many of our students fall into the wrong path, he said.
Ngandam said that we need to compete with others for which we need to work hard with sincerity and dedicate ourselves with devotion for the cause fo our career oriented so that we can serve the society and state. Saying life is a challenge and appeal the students community to pursue their academic career with respect to seniors, teachers and elders.
Meanwhile he assured to look into the memorandum submitted by the Student Union of Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic (SURGGP) and asked the principal of the RGGP to further furnish with detail so as the work can be taken up as per requirement. He also requested the Secretary Education to take up the requirement of the institution proposal tot eh government for consideration.
Secretary Education Dr. Madhu Rani Teotia on the day appreciated the mass participation of young girls in National Cadet Corps (NCC) and National Service Scheme (NSS). It’s good and inspiring for the younger generation that girls are no more mere spectator in the field of study and sports, she said.
I see a ray of scope for the girls in every field of life; let it be sports, education or entertainment. Be inspiration for the society & family and work hard to achieve the destined goal. My office is always open for students in need of support and educational related issues, she added.
Principal of RGGP College AK Tripathy and General Secretary SURGGP highlighted the problems faced by the college due to lack of government financial support, academic need and submitted the memorandum to the Minister.
Memorandum submitted included up gradation of Degree College, Modern teaching aids, infrastructural development, increment of REILA fund from 1 Lakh to 2 Lakhs and few others to mention.
NEFTU Vice Chancellor Dr. Tejum Padu, NHPC Executive Director R Kumar, Commanding Officer 1 AP Bn (NCC) Lt. Col N. K. Bishnoi, DNGC senior faculty MQ Khan, Dr. N. T. Rikam and several other officials of Education department were present on the occasion.
