The Arunachal Civil Society (ACS) on Friday has urged Chief Minister, Pema Khandu and Home Minister, Bamang Felix to take steps to solve the Toko Yame murder case which took place in Tawang district .
In a press release , ACS Chairman Patey Tayum stated that the family members are still awaiting for justice. The delay in solving the case is also harassing some fellow students of Lt. Yame as they are being called to appear before the court for hearings, even in the middle of examinations, which creates panic and mental disturbance to them., Tayum said
“Further, when the students reach Tawang after stressful travelling, the court hearing gets cancelled all of a sudden due to various reasons, which create more and more harassment to them,” ACS chairman Pate Tayum said.
He requested the state government and the investigating agencies to expedite the case, so that the bereaved family gets justice and the students who are often summoned for hearings get some reliefs.
He added that they have apprised the Chief minister and Home minister but have not submitted a written representation.
It must be mention here that , the Arunachal Pradesh government handed over the case relating to disappearance and subsequent death of Toko Yame in Tawang last year to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
