Launching programme on Oil palm plantation in Lower Dibang Valley District by 3F oil palm Agrotech pvt. Ltd in association with department of Agriculture was organized at 8 k.m oil Palm Nursery here today. The programme was attended by Lower Dibang Valley Deputy Commissioner, Deepak Shinde, Sanjay Kr Sain, S.P, Aashis Goenka, MD, 3F oil Palm, PRI members and other officials.
Attending the function as Chief Guest, DC Deepak Shinde Called for active participation and informed that Government is supporting the major part of cost for oil Palm plantation in the district and sought farmer’s contribution for success of the project in long run.
He said that since the oil Palm plantation process involved long gestation period in terms earning returns, he exhorted the farmers to understand the whole farming process and undergo exposure visits and adopt scientific methods of farming. He also said that once oil Palm plantation brings incremental benefits to the farmers, people will forthcoming and start it like other bumper crops harvest in this area.
Regarding selection of beneficiary, risk factor involved in plantation he urged the agency to take outmost care and provide technical support from time to time. He also emphasized on more transparency in MoU among 3F oil Palm company, Agriculture Department and farmers and advocated for proper vigilance in every level of implementation of oil Palm Plantation project in the district.
Aashis Goenka, MD, 3F oil Palm, brief on market values of the Palm oil and informed the Packages and practices of oil Palm cultivation in Lower Dibang Valley District. Citing example of oil Palm producing state like Andhra Pradesh & Mizoram, he informed that Arunachal Pradesh has more favourable climatic condition and hold maximum potential to grow Palm oil. Responding to the farmers queries on marketing facilities, multiple cropping, MoU and other terms & condition, he informed that agency are committed for development in this area in terms of oil Palm plantation and inputs from farmer will be taken into consideration in over all policies and implementation of the project.
Speaking on the event, P.S Reddy, GM informed that collection centre oil Palm will be set up in designated location and money will directly transfer to farmer’s bank account by the company within a week. He also informed that Government is providing maintenance subsidies, pumping set subsidies, inter crop subsidies, Plant subsidies etc to encourage oil Palm Plantation.
