The heavy rainfall experienced for last two days have derailed the movement of the people and the life even in capital complex comes out of gear.
All most all the small and big drain are over flowing and due to which the rainwater is flowing on the National Highway and sector road due to which the local residents have to face inconvenient in all works. In many places roads damaged due to flood water.
The most affected area is Itanagar where the Senki river have shows trail of devastation to the dwelling houses on the river bank. The river is overflowing and entered into their houses and it was early morning at around 3.30 AM where the overflowing river water enters into more than 20 houses.
The road leading to Primary School at Chandaranagar have been washed away, the land protection on the river bank measuring more than 200 mtrs have been completely washed away and the human existence is threatened however Capital District administration led by Capital DC Prince Dhawan alongwith EAC Itanagar J Bomjen, District Disaster Management Officer Moromi Sonam, Relief Officer J Gusar, Itanagar Police station SI AK Sing later joined by Commissioner (PWD) Bilatee Pertin visited and inspected all the vulnerable location in the area and discussed the situation arise out of rise of water label of Senki river completly damaged of protection wall and road of the area with the local resident and IMC Councillor Gora Tallang and Ward Members in presence of senior citizens of the colony and requested the to vacate them to safer place.
He also appeal them to go to Gyan Ganga School campus wherein the capital admin have made relief camp for them. More than 50-60 people have badly been affected in Chandranagar. Though the locals are facing lots of problems but not vacating the area as the area is vulnerable and prone to treat by the said river in any time and is danger to life and property.
The team also visited various places and take stock of the present situation in various parts of the Itanagar township,
Landslide is being adding to other problems in various location of the Itanagar and other parts of the capital complex, district and state as a whole. The road form Ganga Market to Mowb-II via Div-IV, Senki park, Senki View is also badly affected as landslide have damaged and blocked the road at several location, an lobi road a huge slide have blocked the road since last night and movement of people was completely blocked however the man and machine of PWD Capital Division ’A’ was on job to clear the blocked for temporary traffic flow.
The road from Pachali to Zero Point is still block and would take more than two days to open. The road to Sange Laden Sports Academy at Chimpu, approached road in C-II Sector is completely damaged and a single metre of road is not worthy for traffic movement for local.
Three houses and a store of one HR Talo have been badly damaged at Papu Nallah try junction and two OBT in Chandranager have been affected due to hit by senki river water while local boundary fenctin of many local resident at Chandranagar washed away.
Several landslide reports from various parts of capital complex have also been reported. More than 10 places of landslide between Itanagar-Naharlagun have been reported but the traffic come to standstill due to the major culvert near Dree ground washed away
The culvert near Dree ground on NH-415 which got damaged mostly due to the drain water overflowing the road and a portion of the RCC culverts which was damaged and repaired in previous years washed away alongwith the portion of the road, pedestrian were allowed during the day but since the passage was narrow so it too was closed down and security personnel have been deployed to avoid any untoward incident said SP Papm Pare and Capital I/C Tumme Amo.
The bye pass road between Itanagar-Naharlagun is not in a good condition as landslide have also affected at various places ad traffic movement on the said stretch of road is also likely to be affected if appropriate steps are not taken to clear the blocked near Pagatara, and near Papu nallah and few other places one commuters said.
DC Capital Prince Dhawan while said that the district administration is alert and machine from both side have been deployed and cutting toward mountain side will be started latest by evening. The traffic from Itanagar-Naharlagun have completely close until the damaged site is restored Dhawan added.
AE, PHE Itanagar Debia Padang informed this daily that the water supply to the Itanagar and few pats of Naharlagun have also been affected since last night as 200 mm dia water supply pipeline have been damaged at various location between Mowb-II and RK Mission in Niti Vihar area. The 450 mm dia supply line from Poma have also been damaged last night and water supply since last night have been affected.
The supply line at Lapu nallah at Senki view, Pot nallah at Lobi and supply line between Papu nallah and Dony-Polo vidya bhawan area have also been damaged at various location and water supply to these area would be affected, however fitters and mechanic and workers have been deployed to various locations but restoration works may be affected owing to inclined weather Padang added.
