Itanagar: Carpeting with recycled plastic on NH-415 on trial basis

The carpeting work (Bituminous Concrete) BC with recycled plastic today carried out on National Highway-415 here at Papu Nallah today, as a trial basis as part of mission Swachhata hi seva.
Nirjuli PWD Highway Division Executive Engineer Nani Tath said that carpeting works with recycled plastic which has been carried out on trial basis with BC (Bituminous Concrete) mixed with plastic on ongoing 4-Lane of NH-415 as a part of MISSION “SWACHHATA HI SEVA” with the help of contractor M/s T.K Engineering Consortium Pvt Ltd.
The mission ‘Swachhata hi seva’ was kick off by local MLA Techi Kaso on 23″ Sept’ 2019 in presence of MoRTH Regional Officer Subash Chandra.
Nani Tath inform that ” in this technology, road side plastic waste will be re-used for road carpeting work, particularly in wearing coarse to improve marshal stability and fatigue life and other desirable properties of bituminous mixed lead to improve longevity and pavement performance”.
He said that “the formation cutting and other activities are on war footing and the officers of the Highway division is monitoring the work regularly. He said that ” There are 34 hindrances still prevailing in ongoing work like electric pole. PHED pipe line, BSNL Cable and structure, which has been informed to Distric Adm. Some of the hindrances is in progress”.
Further, the Executive Engineer has appealed to the dwellers of Capital Complex to bear with the difficulties faced by them due to construction of 4-Lane Highways and also he has assured that some visible changes will be seen by March’2020.
