Arunachal: Woman exposes “How adulterated pulses are being sold in Pasighat market”

A woman of Pasighat exposed “how adulterated food items being sold in the Pasighat market, by one alleged wholesaler Bindeshwar Singh, in several outlets, weekly and villages markets to earn more profit margin while compromising with the health of the buyers”.
A Video footage of Pasighat Vegetable Market Vendor President, Mrs Rinzing Taloh and one youth, goes Viral in social media. In this footage Mrs Taloh showing Moong Dal ( she purchased from a outlet ) getting discoloured on mixing with plane water. The retailer ( from whome Mr s Talo have purchased the moong dal ) accepting that ” He purchased this items from wholesaler Bindeshwar Singh, but Bideshwar Singh refusing this allegation.
Taking serious cognizance of such illegal sale of adulterated food items, the department of Food Safety from District Medical Office had sent a staff to collect the sample for quality check. But the concern staff is also alleged that the shopkeeper have thrown away the said stock of the moong dal.

When the person concern from the department, Chandra Limboo was contacted, he replied that, he didn’t send that particular item found to be adulterated saying it was getting rotten, rather he collect a fresh sample and was sent for test. But this is the prerogative of the department concern not to compromise with the health and lives of people and rather must act sincerely to check such diluted items by going strongly against such doubted outlets.
Meanwhile, similar such cases of duplicate Cosmetic items were also found being sold in the market. The duplicate cosmetic is said to be supplied from Bangladesh or Myanmar via some middlemen.
When this reporter asked about the source of the agent/suppliers, the cosmetic sellers didn’t divulge their name. “They just came and dropped us the items with higher profit margin, the cosmetics were looking similar to the original brand of, but now we are also alert and will never sale or buy such duplicate items”, added two Cosmetic sellers in the market.
