A fragile portion of Trans Arunachal Highway (TAH) near Hoj, which developed cracks and was in the verge of collapse due to continuous rain, was made temporary repaired for vehicular moment today.
When the team of media reached to the spot it was found that the portion of road measuring around 45 metres and half of portion of road have been sink around 3-4 inches and it would collapse at any time if heavy rain continue.
The site engineer of Doimukh Highway Division S.K. Tyagi informed that he led a team of man and machine of TK Engineering Company and cleared blockage since morning .
We hope that the light vehicular movement do not get disturbed but heavy vehicle movement is not advised, he said.
About the crack , he said that the “crack developed and the road near the Hoj Market got sinked. beside that many landslide have been reported between Doimukh-Hoj-Potin and We are clearing these landslides , restoration work is on.
He informed that cracks at Hoj have been made safe for commuters with mud filled bag barricades however; in this monsoon season stability can’t be predicted.
Few locals of Hoj who were watching the restoration works said that we cannot fight with nature but we can maintain protection and precautionary measures to avoid any accident. They also appeal the vehicle owners and drivers to drive safely in mountain and specially in monsoon
Papum Pare District Administration Yesterday issued a restriction order of vehicular movement on TAH NH- 713 and 713 (A) and NH-13m after receiving information of crack develop on the stretch of road near Hoj Market area.
