Arunachal: Bengia Tolum lays the foundation for NES Secretariat

Nyishi Elite Society (NES) President Bengia Tolum today laid the foundation work of the ‘Nyishi Secretariat ’ at Richi in Jullang here amid huge gathering.
Addressing the gathering Tolum lauded the contribution of former Chief Minister and Sagalee MLA and one of the senior members of Nyishi Society who without any hesitation donated his land for the cause of Nyishi Society. He said that to have a plot of land for own purposed in capital which donated for the social cause is a big donation and it would be remembered by the people of Nyishi community in time to come.
He appreciated the noble gesture by the contributors former Minister and Palin MLA Present leader of Opposition Takam Pario and PWD Superintendent Engineer and a social leader Er. Techi Ratu who have continued a sum of Rupees Three Crore each for the construction of the said building.
He said that the said building would be the centre point of all activities of the Nyishi Elite Society and the community. Nyishi is the largest tribe of state and its unity will be strength and that unity will lead all the developmental works of the state in fore front and appeal one and all to work for the society without discriminating others.
He appeal one and all leaders, youths and students to work for preservation of identity and dignity of Nyishi by its sincerity, hard work, love and unity among each others.
Leader of Opposition and Contributor Takam Pario in his address said that foundation of the building have been laid today but the design should be taken into consideration after verifying all pros and cons of need of the society. All members of society are equally responsible being a Nyishi and appeal for participation of all members of the community by contributing his responsibility for the cause of the Nyishi.
Koloriang MLA Pani Taram said that we Nyishi members fully depend on NES for Socio economic development of Nyishi people. For the future of Nyishi culture and its preservation every one need to be united for its cause and work for the preservation of cultural value and identity of the society.
NES Vice President Tarh Tabin while giving a brief description of the building campus said that the land measuring 28000 sqmtrs wherein till date 117 mtrs of land protection measures have been constructed from the down side. The building having two floor, statistic look with sufficient parking facilities outside the building and landscaping facility would add to the attraction of the building. The estimated cost of 16 crore of which 6 crore have been contributed by two contributors and rest would be generated by the members, social workers, elected leaders and other members of the community as a support for the cause of the society.
He said that building having all facilities, cabinet office for NES cabinet, library, museum, acoustic conference cum auditorium and cultural hall with traditional symbol of the Nyishi and any other modification would be as per the requirement of the Nyishi Society and NES for traditional and cultural value preservation would be made available to see as a traditional touch of the community.
General Secretary Heri Maring while giving brief sketch on the issue said that on March 11 2017 it was discussion was held for having a Secretariat building for NES and later on 8th NES foundation day celebration the foundation stone was laid at Nyokum Lapang ground. On May 28 the discussion was changed from proposal of small building to a big campus was finalised in a meeting of all members and elected MLA of the society and this proposal come into being. The land for the said donated by former CM Nabam Tuki on May 24 2017 and since then the process for the purpose started.
He said that a technical committee have been constituted under the chairmanship of senior engineer Katung Waghe and Gyamar Tachun who will look all prospect and need of the society and requirement of building while 7 member Resource mobilization committee will look after all aspect of financial activities and its requirement.

Former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, lawmaker Nabam Rebia, Bamang Felix, Tamar Murtem, Markio Tado, Biyuram Waghe, Mama Natung, senior member of Society, NES Central, District, Block executive Members, former NES leaders, social workers and members of NACWS were present on the occasion.
