Itanagar : Honchun Ngandam inaugurates Shikshak Bhawan and academic block of the DNGC

Education Minister Honchun Ngandam accompanied with local MLA Techi Kaso inaugurated Shikshak Bhawan and academic block of the DNGC within college campus here today in presence of senior departmental officers, DNGC faculty members and students.

Terming the teachers and students living assets of the college who alone could bring name and fame but the concrete structures could be only centre for exposure for achieving excellence.

He emphatically told the students and the teachers that the responsibility of taking this reputed college to a higher pedestal of glory rests on their shoulders. A strong administrative leadership, like principal Dr N T Rikam, would grease their efforts to achieve the goal of turning the DNGC into a centre of excellence, he said and cautioned that without commitment and sincerity of the students to achieve the goal.

He announced that the state has got approval for an engineering college at Tezu, one each model degree college at Longding and Namsai under RUSA phase-II but assured to grant funds under SADA and RUSA every year as DNGC is the face of state’s higher education.

Kaso congratulated the college community on getting useful infrastructures but urged the minister to meet all demands placed by the principals and announced to facilitate CC road within DNGC campus.

 He however, took exception to remark of an agitating teacher to teach students Z in place of A, and exhorted them to mend their attitude.

Higher & technical education Dr Tayek Talom urged the DNGC fraternity to work with commitment to fulfill the requirements of Bangaluru-based National Assessment & Accreditation Council.

Dr Rikam earlier said that  Shikshak Bhawan, quarters (2 type-II blocks & 2 type-IV blocks) were built with Rs four crore special plan assistance funds and academic block with Rs 4 crore fund of RUSA pahse-I, which also included maintenance & renovation of class rooms, security room, new separate toilets for girls and boys etc.  He also enlisted various requirements of the college with funds and manpower for effective functioning.

Vice principal Kumar Tok, in his address, lauded the sympathetic attitude of the Govt towards the college and also the contractor M/s Ananth Enterprises for its quality construction of all infrastructures.
