Awareness on Menstrual Hygiene Management and Training on Sanitary Napkin Production conducted by Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology (APSCS&T), Govt. Of A,P in collaboration with Priyanshi Educational Cultural and Social Society (PECSS), Bhopal, Monyul Buddhist Cultural Preservation Scoiety(MBCPS) and Losel Nyinje Charitable Society (LNCS), Tawang culminated today at Tawang.
The project PI Yumbi Bijum Yomgam, Scientific Officer, APSCS&T briefing on the occasion stated that Menstruation is an important biological process on which the survival and reproduction of an entire species depends as no species survives forever and for a species to survive one has to reproduce its own kind.
Menstruation is the process of reproduction hence, it should never be a reason to shame and disgrace menstruating women and girls. She further added by providing training on sanitary napkin production and helping them setting up a production unit we are attempting in empowering them to be financially independent and also in shedding their discomfort surrounding menstruation through awareness programmes along with training workshops.
Master Resource person Dr Shalini Saxena, President, PECSS, Bhopal emphasized on incorporating healthy food habits to manage menstrual related health issues. She added the mindset on menstruation can only be changed through menstrual education and such workshops serve as the platform to create the much needed change.
