Arunachal: Pamir Roy, a NERIST Student received National Award from IIT Kanpur and IIT Kharagpur

Seven IITs and IISc Banglore offer National Programme of Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), an online learning courses platform financially supported by MHRD, New Delhi. NPTEL has started domain certification programme in July 2018.
Mr. Pamir Roy, a Diploma Second year student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, NERIST is the first student in India to achieve Domain Certificate in the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI). He has completed 15 courses so far. He was the topper in the two courses in the last semester. On his achievement, he was felicitated in the SPOC felicitation workshop held at IIT Kharagpur on 27th July 2019.
The certificate and award was presented to him by Prof. Nimai Chandra Sah, Vice Chancellor of Jharkhand University of Technology along with Prof. Adrijit Goswami, Vice Chancellor of Bhardhaman University, Prof. Swagata DasGupta, Associate Dean and Coordinator, NPTEL, Eastern Region and Prof. Parthasarthi Chakraborty, IIT Kharagpur.
Apart from studying regular courses at NERIST, Mr. Roy has completed a large number of courses in other branch of engineering. Therefore it is a big achievement from a student of north east India. He was invited to share his experience to other faculty members of different colleges and university at IIT Kanpur NPTEL team 3rd August 2019 so that it can be motivation to other engineering students. On this occasion he was also felicitated by Prof. Satyaki Roy, National Coordinator, NPTEL.
Mr. Roy has been offered internship in IIT Madras under Prof. Balraman Ravindran, Department of Computer Science and Engineering for a duration of one month. NPTEL will provide financial support for his travel and accommodation.
